Karp's Homebrew Shop is pleased to be an authorized dealer for the
JSP MALTMILL® and the Adjustable MALTMILL®.
The MALTMILL is an affordable, authentic, roller mill. The MALTMILL that makes it possible for homebrewers to turn out perfectly milled grain. The mill crushes the malt, leaving the husk intact while producing a minimum of flour.
The MALTMILL will process a pound of grain in less than 15 seconds. When motorized, it will crush at a rate in excess of 300 pounds per hour. It is designed to sit on top of a bucket or mash tun so that the milled grain falls in and any dust created is contained. It can also be bolted or clamped to a work table for more stable or permanent operation.
The MALTMILL is provided with a nominal spacing of .045" between the rollers. This produces an excellent crush on all commonly used malt. The roller journals ride in oil-impregnated bronze bearings, pressed into aluminum castings. A coarse textured surface on the rollers prevents the grain from slipping and is the key to providing an efficient mill at far less cost then conventional multiple stage roller mills.
The Adjustable MALTMILL is available for those who need additional flexibility.
The standard rollers are fabricated from cold rolled steel. The crushing surface is 10" long and 1-1/2" in diameter, the largest in the home brew industry.
The MALTMILL is supplied with an integral hopper that holds approximately 3 pounds of grain. With just a little tinkering, and a plastic bucket, the hopper can be reworked to hold as much grain as a homebrewer would need.
The MALTMILL is designed and built by Jack Schmidling Productions, Inc., and carries a lifetime warranty. Any part that does not last forever will be replaced at no charge. This LIFETIME WARRANTY is in no way effected by motorizing the MALTMILL, but the manufacturer absolves itself from all liability for personal injury if the mill is modified in any way, including the addition of a motor drive. The only limitation of the warranty is that when used in a commercial environment, the cost of re-knurling because of normal wear must be borne by the customer. Hence, we recommend commercial users purchase case hardened rollers.
